What is Webuzo Control Panel?

Webuzo is a Multi-User Control Panel that helps you manage your cloud or dedicated server. It helps you to manage your domain, emails, websites, database, etc easily. Webuzo is multi-functional and also works as a Server management tool simplifying the lives of server admins. Webuzo has the ability to easily launch, manage, and maintain a number of web applications for users.

How to secure your websites on Webuzo server using cPGuard

As a web security suite, cPGuard can protect your websites on Webuzo server using its modules that operate in various layers. The installation and configuration are simple and driven through cPGuard standard installation procedure.

Before installing cPGuard, you need to make some changes in the ModSecurity configuration because Webuzo does not enable ModSec by default. So you need to install OWASP vendor rules and disable it from Webuzo. Please refer “Settings required for Webuzo Control Panel”  in this help article for details.  Please note that WAF may not function if you set things up as per the instructions in the article.

Once WAF settings are done in Webuzo, you can proceed with cPGuard installation.  To install cPGuard on your Webuzo server, use the following command

To install cPGuard on your Webuzo server, use the following command

cd /usr/local/src && rm -f cpguard_install.sh && curl -o cpguard_install.sh -L https://downloads.opsshield.com/cpguard/cpguard_install.sh && bash cpguard_install.sh LICENCE-KEY
cd /usr/local/src && rm -f cpguard_install.sh && curl -o cpguard_install.sh -L https://downloads.opsshield.com/cpguard/cpguard_install.sh && bash cpguard_install.sh LICENCE-KEY
  • LICENCE-KEY – This is the license key that you have purchased and wish to apply to your server. This is mandatory to complete installation and bind your server to the App Portal

After running the above command, the installer script will run and install dependency packages for your Operating System. After successful installation, you will get the login URL to your server in the App Portal ( like https://app.opsshield.com/server/0001 ) and you can use your client area login credentials to log in. Once logged into the server dashboard in app portal, you can go to settings to configure cPGuard settings and check logs/stats from respective pages. 

In case you wish to give inputs manually a convert the configuration to a standalone type, you can run the following commands. Please note that this is required only if you wish to customize the cPGuard configuration to fetch the details of your InterWorx server

cpgcli standalone-conf --wizard
